Sunday Charity Raffles!
The clubs third key community program is the Sunday Charity Raffles. Charities are invited to apply each year for participation in this program. Charities are allocated a number of Sundays across the year to conduct a raffle with the support of the club. The club provides a number of prizes through the support of its suppliers and sponsors. The club also provides all tickets and necessary equipment along with the clubs promotional officer to help drive the raffle, thus maintaining professional standards. The charity is only required to provide 3 or 4 people for ticket sales and to also provide patrons with information concerning their group. While it has had significant success in raising funds, with an average of $400 profit to the groups each week, it has also assisted to raise each organisations profile amongst club patrons.
Tropical Charity Fridays
From time to time the club staff are encouraged to dress in a tropical shirt in support of a current charity initiative eg Red Nose Day, Jeans for Genes Day, Tatts & Tiaras Day. In order to maintain presentation standards the club has purchased a number of tropical shirts for staff to wear at the cost of $2 to support the charity. In addition staff purchase & wear the charities items such as red noses, bandanas, tatts and tiaras etc. While funds from this are not the most significant averaging around $250, the concept provides for both a fun filled atmosphere, and a greater understanding amongst staff of the role of a licensed club.
